my resolutions, and my commentary on yoursineffibleneeJanuary 3 2005, 08:31:55 UTC
1) wear more toes socks, or wear the toe socks I have more often 2) be more engaged in school - ie, actually complete more of the reading assignments! 3) stop eating so much sugar 4) stop compulsively hording make-up and perfume 5) be more friendly, esp. to the shy people on campus(such as Catguy!) 6) be more tolerant of other's personality quirks 7) write two novels; submit to Maryglen (my friend who owns a publishing house) 8) coat Thanny in Panteen Pro V and not remove it (If you don't know the back story on this, I will explain later) 9) be consistantly responsible, as opposed to consistantly not responsible
comments on yours: 2) materialism does not seem to be a bad thing unless it is consuming an excessive amount of psychic energy (ie, it's blocking your personal growth ) or you are resorting to nefarious means to accquire things. In the words of the sage Josh Frederick "I agree with Budha that the path of moderation is the best path. Unfortunately, I'm just not on it." Remember, it's not the things in and of themselves that are the problem, just how we relate to them. 4) procrastination is sometimes productive - it's better to mull a project or essay idea over before you begin working on it. And you brain needs a rest after class for optimal processing of reading information. I suppose the key here would be moderation as well, although it's not a path I have been on either... Maybe this year, though...

Did you think I would catch that (number 8) and then let it slide by? I am outraged, but laughing...
You guys all have some good thoughts, but resolutions like "do X more" are not very good goals because they are defined subjectively. A well-defined resolution would be "don't hate your enemies." More on that in my LJ soon.
