lmao I'LL BE EQUALLY SLOW since i'm probably going to bed soon?roseraiebleueOctober 6 2009, 02:42:41 UTC
[The tears had subsided -- more due to exhaustion and dehydration than anything else, but Charles had calmed down a bit just the same. Not that his mind was much clearer, and this overwhelming tiredness that he hadn't felt in years was doing little to help that.
He wiped a bit of regurgitated blood from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand as he stepped out of the bathroom, his communicator still sitting on the counter, already forgetting anyone else had offered to come as he waited for his roommates to return.]

[Not too long afterward, Oz knocks on the door, a little tentatively because it didn't seem like the other boy was in a very good mood. (understatement of the year.)]

[Charles looks up at the sound with a slight frown -- he doubts the twins would knock on the door to their own room -- and finally he remembers someone had said they'd be coming over, although it isn't anyone whose name he's ever cared to learn.
It takes a moment for him to get to the door, his balance a little off-kilter, but he soon opens it and looks at his visitor without a word, swaying a little and putting his hand against the door frame to steady himself.
It probably looks as if he was overreacting terribly in his post to anyone who doesn't know the situation -- aside from the smeared blood at the edges of his mouth, the only sign of injury is a cut on his cheek, rather deep and still bleeding, but hardly an emergency.]

[Oz blinks at the other boy, who didn't seem to be too terribly injured. Still, you couldn't really tell, and he'd definitely sounded like he was upset about more than just an injury.]
Um, hi. [He shifts from foot to foot, a bit awkwardly.] My name is Oz. I...brought bandages?
[commentlog]roseraiebleueOctober 7 2009, 03:29:09 UTC
Charles.
[The French pronunciation, as always, and his voice sounds different now than it did over the communicator before -- softer.
He steps aside to let the boy in, watching him somewhat warily -- for the first time in decades, he isn't powerful anymore.]
I didn't expect that you'd actually do it.
[He fidgets a bit with the ribbon around his collar; he's had precious little experience with this type of casual conversation. Riku had so rarely let him get a word in edgewise than it had hardly mattered then.]

Charles. [Oz repeats it to himself, then smiles brightly, letting that outward shell of confident optimism reassert itself.] Nice to meet you!
[He glanced sidelong at the boy, who still looked rather awkward, all things considered.] Well, I said I would, didn't I? Um, where are you hurt? I can probably help with the bandaging!
[commentlog]roseraiebleueOctober 8 2009, 01:26:55 UTC
[A faint hint of color rises in his cheeks -- that kind of smile, as rare as it is for him to see, is too familiar -- and he silently chides himself for this pathetic weakness as he averts his eyes.]
Mm... Just this.
[He raises a long-nailed finger to tap lightly beside the gash on his left cheek, eyes fixed firmly on the wall.]
[commentlog] ff sorry I am late forever. I'm happy to continue if you'd like though.acreepybratOctober 8 2009, 04:39:38 UTC
[Charles wouldn't meet his eyes, and Oz absently wondered if it had anything to do with them being... weak, no, it wasn't a big deal, and he was here to help, wasn't he?]
Oh, okay. [...it had sounded worse over the communicators, but he was still hurt, wasn't he?] Uh, have you disinfected it or anything? Or washed it? We should do that before we put a bandage on it.
[commentlog] apologies here too! ;; i've been canon reviewing when home from work so lol slowroseraiebleueOctober 8 2009, 16:49:33 UTC
...No.
[It's the obvious first step, but infection is nothing he's had to worry about for decades, and now he looks like a stupid irresponsible child again.]
The bathroom's in here.
[His voice is still flat and quiet as he leads the way into the room -- slowly, and looking as if he could lose consciousness completely at any moment. Steadying himself once more against the bathroom counter, he nods slightly toward an old discolored washcloth and a basin of water beside the nonfunctional sink.]
