Am I the only one not overly impressed with this movie? I'm not a huge sci fi buff though. I like Star Trek the Next Generation a lot though. However here I preferred Titanic by a landslide. I cared more about the characters on all sides there. While watching Avatar I was like Ok the big bad Americans are going to come in and annihilate these people for progress and waste and profit. It was Dances With Wolves or Pocahontas just in a futuristic setting! Where was the new original story. Honestly I sort of felt ripped off. It was mostly just visual effects which were phenomenal to credit Cameron but I'm more into movies that take me on a journey and really watch an actor themself evolve on that journey and Avatar just didn't do it for me.
