"I'm afraid you have Tom Jones syndrome." "Is that rare?" "It's not unusual..."

Actually, I am still failing to get much of Tom Jones read, which is unusual for me, and it's not because it is a bad book either. It makes me laugh a lot.

However, I have been qu tired this week, though I think self-imposed staying in has helped! I went out to MUDAM with the stagiaires as per on Wednesday night, and had Lent group on Thursday night, but that was it.

Instead of my usual film Friday last night, I watched, well, listened to (my computer wouldn't show me the visuals) a recording of the BBC TV show The Big Silence (http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/proginfo/tv/2010/wk42/feature_big_silence.shtml) which was v interesting. Mostly what I learned from it is there are a lot of people hurting, which I was already aware of, not least because my cousin's baby has been in hospital this past week, but still thought it was gd to be reminded. I sometimes wish God didn't let me feel so deeply about things, but mostly I'm glad he does...

ION, this week I:
-had lunch outside, and managed to get on the evening news as a result. Not for criminal activity, but because it being sunny enough to eat outdoors was newsworthy. In some ways, I feel like I haven't left Britain, lol.
-went to a membership class to find out more about All Nations Church
-booked to go on the All Nations Church's weekend retreat next month, which I'm really looking forward to : D
-pressed the petals (Tom Jones being a nice thick book and therefore perfect for such things) from the flowers (yellow tulips, very springlike) I got at Sunday's Mothering Sunday service at the anglican church.

I have been granted my allotted days of leave (we get 2 days a month, and I'd saved up my March days)for the last week of April, so I will be getting that day off on the 29th after all (though it had amused me that the UK were bringing in a new bank holiday as I was leaving the country). Pleasing. I don't know what I shall do to celebrate the occasion. Perhaps I shall wear an enormous hat, lol.

Bisous,

Rose
