The hard part hadn't been deciding what to wear, for once. Rose had given herself time to scrutinize the contents of her closet and find something that worked - more specifically, something she thought Jack would approve of. Dancing was one thing, dancing with complete strangers another, and dancing with a close person in one's life became a whole

Jack was delighted to spend some time with Rose as it had been awhile. Truth be told he needed a break from always working and this was a very welcome distraction.He showed up looking as handsome as ever, or at least he'd say he was. He saw her sitting and waiting and slipped up beside her smiling. "So think you can keep up?"

Rose turned her head to meet his eyes and gave him a bright, dazzling smile, the kind she locked up in the corner and didn't show for many people. "I'm sure I can," she said, "the question is whether or not you can." Her hand touched his wrist. "And I have to say that I'm glad to see you."

"Rose look who you are talking to." He smiled then and kissed the corner of her mouth then. "It's good to see you as well."

Rose turned her head and kissed him in turn, her eyes bright. "So where are you taking me on this date of ours?"

"Only to the best place. I can't just take you anywhere now can I?" He smiled and took her hand then. "Come on you."

"Oh, I know you never would," she grinned. Her fingers laced with his and she let him pull her, following on her heeled shoes.

He gave her one of his grins and walked with her taking her into a fairly nice place. He looked around. "Drink or straight to dancing?"

"Oh, I think we should dance," Rose said, turning her head to look at the impressive surroundings. Jack had excellent taste in just about everything he chose. "Besides, you don't need to get me drunk to coerce me," she teased.

"Depends on what I am trying to coerce you into." He winked and took her hand and walked to the dance floor with her.

"Yeah?" The music rose up to meet them and Rose folded her fingers around his, following him to the middle of the dance floor.

He winked and smiled turning to face him. He drew her close to him smiling as he moved with the music.

Her arm moved around his shoulders and she pressed into the familiar warmth of his body, looking up at him with a grin. "Still just as good as I remember."

"I only get better with age my dear Rose." He grinned a bit at that.

"Oh, I can believe that." Rose lifted her arms and draped them easily around his neck, letting herself drift in his arms. "No trouble believing you just keep charming the ladies."

"And several men and aliens along the way." He winked and smiled keeping her close.

Rose giggled against the side of his neck. "Anyone special?" she asked.
