Hisoka felt wobbly and uncertain on his feet as Service helped him up, and the light in the room felt strange when he stepped into it, as if it were some molten, golden thing, as if it were a fur he could wrap around himself. He didn't pull away from the gentle tug as he normally might have, his blood pounding in his ears. He felt warm all over, his earlier terror a foreign thing, dissolving in his bloodstream like the pill, whatever it had been.

It didn't really seem to matter. Though he'd planned to say something, Hisoka only asked, "Do we have to?" as his gaze turned longingly towards the window. "Can we go outside?"

The changing quality of light as the afternoon progressed reminded him of being on the boat in Amakusa with Hijiri, who might have been a friend if Hisoka hadn't been obliged to move on once the case was done, and that had been a good day in his life, overall, even though he couldn't have known the way the case would blow up later. But he wanted to go outside. "Are there boats?" he asked, with an effort wrenching his gaze away from the window and up to Service's incredibly blue eye. No one who'd hurt him had blue eyes, so it was all right.
