long time, no update
Por Favor forgive me for not updating...I've been muy busy as usual but then again I can recall plenty of times when I've just been sitting around you know, not updating my journal and doing other procrastinator-type things. Anyway, well, what's new with me...hmm I'm dancing for about four hours a day now and that seems to be the only giant wonderful and hindering part of my day. I have to plan what I do around that. I"m on the bhangra team which is performing this Friday at a dance-a-thon and we have a competition in two weeks. We're also performing at the India Night show which will be fabulous---April 8 and 9...pleeeease come if you can, it will be really really great. Tickets are $12 and the show is about 3 hours long. I also have another act in India night, another dance with 9 of my friends. hmm what else...chemistry is totally kicking my butt...I def don't like it...my TA is super nice and all but I guess I could complain or just examine how I haven't been studying as much as I should. But even if I was studying a lot for it, which I've been trying to do, I like biology much more. I also took up another class two weeks ago called EOL 199. It's an intergroup relations class where we talk about issues such as commonalities and differences and finding out who you are, diversity concerning LGBT, race, ethnicity, ability level, etc and so much more. Its a really great classs...we just talk and I love that. I have to take it as a requirement for my job next year---I'm going to be an MA--a multicultural advocate for the residence halls. There will be 12 of us next year and we each have a few buildings in our jurisdiction that we put on multicultural and informative and fun programs for. It'll take up a lot of time though so I'll have to tone it down with all the Indian stuff I've been doing---Indian Students Association and Hindu Student Council...maybe it'll make me study more, we'll see :-). Oh, and I love my music class. I'm taking Vocal Music in an African American Context...not sure if I've said this stuff before..sorry for the repeats if I have. We're singing more now since my teacher finally got over her food poisoning. Oh speaking of that, we watched this horrific video in biology discussion today about spongiform encephalopathies...such as mad cow disease and scrapies. It was watching a cow holocaust coupled with self destructive lambs...it was not fun. OH, and I'm still on my delivery kick..I love getting food delivered to the dorm! Bad for my money situation but I guess I don't really do much else with it besides eat, and yummy for my tummy. Last night I got pizza and pokey stix (a u of i specialty hehe). OOOOOOO we got our costumes for dance team two days ago...they're soooo pretty!!!! I tried mine on and was dancing around down the halls...it was at night so no one saw me but it was so great. We have all this gold colored jewelry and its this blaring orange, beige, and blue combo. Oh, and gold fringe...yeah I'm not creating a pretty visual but it's really pretty, take my word on that. Alrighty, that's pretty much all I got for now. Oh, and I went home for a day..last Saturday...first actual visit since November (I was in India over winter break and just slept at my house before and after the trip). It was nice seeing my family but also you know, weird. My mom is soooo sure I'm having sex. Its kinda funny. Then when I get mad because she keeps asking, she's just like "I just want to make sure...I've seen so many movies and heard so many bad stories." I'm think MOM< THEY"RE MOVIES...but then she'd just yell at me more. Whatever. ok, the end for real...EL FIN :-)
