(no subject)
Well, that sucks big time.... just wrote an entry and went to "rich text" AFTER writing without saving it. Lost the whole thing. Oh well....here are the basics that I can remember...
I'm in such a great mood after having all the SHIT removed from my apt. today. It's a beautiful space, now ringing with echoes from the glorious emptiness. The guy hauled off three truck loads and two trailer loads of crap. He quoted me $100 for the job, but when it came time to pay, I told him I was giving him $150, because I knew it had taken him far longer than he'd anticipated and the feeling I got from seeing all that stuff hauled off was better than hours and hours of therapy, which I couldn't have gotten for $50, even with health insurance!
My grand plan is to eventually split the downstairs in half to make a one-person apt. and then have half the downstairs and the whole upstairs for us. I'll be able to host family holiday gatherings and have spend-the-night company very comfortably! Hopefully, I can swing it in a couple of years, maybe when the new tenants are ready to move. Now, that's something to look forward to. I want to refinish the floors upstairs (there are sadly scratched by careless dragging of heavy, pointed furniture, I guess) and remodel the very cool tree house-like bathroom. All that can wait, but it's fun to think about all the possibilities. It'll be VERY decadent to have that much space for just the two of us, but with my parents moving to so.ga. soon, it'll be nice to be able to have them AND my brother and his family at the same time. I'll also finally have the apt. I've always dreamed of--an upstairs bedroom that overlooks the street, kind of like Mary Tyler Moore's Minneapolis apt. from her show. We'd also have a back door and small back courtyard. I've greatly missed having an outdoor space that's not on display to the whole neighborhood.
poor martha.... I cannot BELIEVE she got busted! oh well.....
