So we had our inspection yesterday on the house and they uncovered not only a *massive* mold problem, but a foundational problem, and several other issues that, in the end, were too much for us to deal with on top of all of the other fixes we were trying to do, so we walked away. The good news is, we're basically only out the inspection fee (best $250 we've ever spent) and possibly our mortgage application fee, but we'll get our entire deposit back from the seller.
At this point, we're basically back to the drawing board. We actually decided to kind of take a step back from the house buying for a bit and re-assess where we are, especially with the new baby on the way. We may end up deciding to rent a townhouse for the next couple of years instead of buying and saving up for a bigger downpayment, but we'll see.
