So, it's been awhile. Stuff has been going on. Work is better, 2WN is going to be more prepared for its spring concert than we have ever been before and
altodescant and I will be in DC this weekend for a very old friend from high school's wedding.
I ended up deciding that since it was going to be 85 degrees on Saturday in VA, that it was probably a good idea to try and find a dress to wear instead of my original plans of pants and a sweater (standard work wear in Michigan in April) so I went out shopping yesterday in search of a dress.
Apparently, my concept of what my body looks like is way messed up. I know I have an hourglass figure (especially post-Noah); I have boobs and hips of doom. However, I'd always been under the assumption that close-fitting and non-a-line skirts were a big no-no for me. Apparently not. I must have tried on 10 different dresses yesterday and the dress I ended up buying was a sheath dress.
Let me repeat that. A sheath dress. I have never been able to wear a sheath dress in my life.
Link, although mine is green, not white. But apparently I can also wear pencil skirts now (they always used to do weird things to my butt). So a-line dresses don't work so much (especially not that jersey fabric either - clings in all sorts of weird places), but structured sheath dresses work great. Who knew?
