And It Was All Yellow?
I'm finally able to come clean. :o) I have a new job!
About two weeks ago, I was officially offered a position as a Business Analyst at an HR firm. It was a permanent, salaried position making significantly more money than I was making at my old job and so I finally decided to give my notice after two and a half years at ye olde IT company.
My last day there was on Friday, and they had a nice lunch for me. I was surprised at how many people showed up (at least twenty!), but there was free food. :o) Mary, one of my co-workers, took a picture of me earlier in the day and had it up on a projector, and then started playing Coldplay's Yellow, which really only added to the "I'm attending my own funeral" vibe.
My first day at new job was today, and it went reasonably well. I got to my desk this morning and was surprised to find a box of business cards waiting for me. I have business cards! I feel so adult-like and stuff! Today was slow, as my training really starts tomorrow, but I'm looking forward to digging in to the new projects I'll be working on.
I also can't wait to see that shiny new paycheck. ;o)
