Friday Random Ten: "No Instruments Necessary" Edition
You know, it's kind of sad, but this whole "Friday Random Ten" thing actually reminds me to post in my LJ at least once a week. I'm rather enjoying it.
Last night we (altodescant and I) interviewed a prospective music director for the SE Michigan Chapter of the Contemporary A Cappella league, and it gave us some really good ideas about where we're going and what, exactly, we are trying to do. She seemed quite nice and very knowledgeable, although she's never been in a contemporary a cappella group before (she's mostly done jazz so far). This is actually kind of beneficial, as we can take the group in the direction we want without a lot of interference from a music director with their own ideas as to how the songs should sound (as selfish as that is).
Also, WE NEED A BAND NAME. I don't really want to start advertising for auditions without a name, because that gets very hard, so PLEASE HELP.
For those in the area, auditions will be:
September 22, 2007, 2-5 pm (appointments preferred, walk-ins accepted

I have also started writing an original story for the first time in a LONG time. Light in Dark Places still isn't finished, and I anticipate finishing it soon, however I started outlining this new story and I'm really excited about it. I'm not sharing much at the moment until it starts to coalesce some more in my head, but needless to say, it's very nice to be inspired by characters of my own creation.
And to mix it up this week, the friday random ten is at the bottom rather than the top of the post (yes, for those of you who've been skipping it these past few weeks -- I do write posts of some substance at the bottom). :o)
