1) My ex-stepfather's mother (so my ex-step-grandmother) passed away last week. :o( She always treated me like one of her own, even after my mom and stepdad got divorced, and even though it was a long time in coming (she's been battling leukemia at age 87 for half a year), it's still sad to see her go. The funeral will be in Chicago in November, so I'll be back in Chi-town then for that (so if I missed any of you this last time, I'll try to catch you this time).
2) Emily's wedding was absolutely beautiful -- really one of the most heartfelt ceremonies I have ever been to.
altodescant and I had a blast and were generally amused that people really seemed to like our outfits and wanted to take pictures of us (since it was a masquerade we dressed up in kimonos with simple masks). It was hilarious.
3) We went through my mom's warehouse on Saturday to find my keepsake stuff and anything else that we decided we wanted. We picked up some great stuff: an entire new set of dishes, a George Foreman grill, a Wolfgang Puck knife set, some pots and pans, cutting boards, cooling racks, some nice artwork in frames to round out the apartment. I really have no idea how one person can own so much stuff. I was also thrilled to find my old musical and variety show t-shirts from high school along with all of my other memorabilia from high school. Brent also found a picture he really likes of me from a homecoming dance I went to junior year and has decided to keep it. :o)
4) Also,
altodescant has an interview here at gedas! Woot! Keep your fingers crossed for him.
5) We're having a housewarming party on Saturday at 5:00, so if you want to come out, please let me know. If we have to arrange sleeping quarters, that is doable.
That's about it from here, so I guess I should get back to work. Yay work.
