The good news or the bad?

Hey guys. A dear friend and one of the pharmacists I work with was diagnosed with breast cancer yesterday. They'd found a mass on her last mammogram just before Christmas, did a needle biopsy and it came back negative. The doctor, however was unconvinced. He had a 'feeling' about it and encouraged her to have a larger section taken from the mass and biopsied. Which she did just before Xmas. Yesterday, she got the call. On the plus side, I am so grateful he wouldn't let it go. How awful if the cancer had begun to spread, all the while we were thinking it was harmless. She goes in for a mastectomy Friday, then we'll hear how things will proceed from there.
