I got a B+ on my first English paper. She told the class not to be too hard on ourselves because she's a difficult paper grader and hardly ever gives an A. I think compared to the rest of the class, I should have gotten one

i am having the exact same experience here, it makes me want to die!
i have decided iambic pentameter tests should be included on the sats because i sure as fuck dont want to have to sit through it being explained in college. its pathetic.
and i got a b on my first essay, i think mostly because i talk in class so my teacher thought i was going to be some sort of prophetess, because based on my classes iq level which is < my desk, it cannot have been that comparatively bad.
grr, college.

It's true. You're going to praise the BHS English department when you enter the college world.
p.s.
Don't be lazy, do whatever you can to pass out of Freshman English. Whether that means taking AP's or exams to get out of the class, don't waste your time (and money).
