I didn't realize how close I came to being in a tornado yesterday. 62 tornadoes touched the ground in NC, and two carved paths just to the right and the left of where we were staying (we were dog sitting in Raleigh this weekend). I do remember that the dog's ears pricked up and she starting shivering, and then the wind got incredibly strong, and then the power went out. I guess that was our close call...I kept waiting to hear that "freight train" sound before diving into the bathtub.

We usually go to east campus for church, but the windows had blown out and that service was cancelled. So, we went to west campus. And they were putting together groups of people to go out into the community and help people get the debris and trees off their streets and houses. Jared and I joined up and helped for a few hours. It's really a mess in southeast Raleigh.

And I haven't heard/seen anything out of Holly Springs, but I just got a call that all the schools there (including mine) are closed tomorrow. I hope everyone's all right.

I'm thankful to be safe, with no car/house damages, and to have electricity. God sure knows how to put the humble back in me.
