Almost one year...we are getting there...
We approach Rose's first birthday in a few days. I can't believe that it has been almost a year. She has grown and changed so much in that time. Some of the recent changes have been her trying to climb up stairs but not quite making it. She has got an attitude that she has to get the center of attention. She certainly got that this past 2 weeks. She was a good girl while going to and from home to Becca's house while Becca's mother was passing away. I think Rose helped them through all of it. It was fun to see her bring smiles to everyone.
Rose's 6 teeth are all now through in various spots. She will have 8 teeth when they are all in. She is speaking more and more. She says dada all the time now. It is kinda funny to watch her crawl up to Paul and say hi dada. We have had a mama, but just really one of them. Nothing repeated like she will for other things. She is getting waving down for hi. She needs work for bye, but she will get there.
She still thinks she is a cat, I think that will happen for a while. She is also having fun exploring everything in the room, no matter how often she has seen it. She loves to move around. I have found several new places I'll have to corner off soon as she gets more active. She pulls herself up on things. She gets one hand up and then scoots her knees up until she is right next to the item. If she happens to fall or can't get where she wants she starts to fuss. It is so funny to watch and I just let her go. She spends so little time fussy that a little fuss time is good for her.
We have finally got to the point that she is eating a little more solid foods and she will pick them up now. For so long she has not wanted to because they were wet. It will be interesting to see what she does with her cake. She did have a small part of a cookie the other day. She seemed to love that. She is eating pasta and eggs and a few other foods. It makes it so much easier to feed her the same food we are eating. I just have to plan on cooking at the same time she eats now.
I did take Rose trick or treating. We did not get candy, but more just went to show her off. She peed on her princess outfit so she just went as the dragon. :) She got called a little boy lots. You can see her professional pictures below.
