[ Look to the ocean and if you look closely enough, you'll find a mermaid-with-legs in a light blue dress watching the shore with a dreamy, thoughtful gaze while seated on a rock. She sighs, then looks down to the little device in her hands, which looks like it's made of shells. But it's actually a useful little tool for her to glance at the human world! And that handsome prince, who she saw once before. She doesn't see him now, so the device is set aside. She wonders if she'll see any interesting humans... ]

[ And she sighs, moving her hands before her, then sings sweetly to herself. ]

I wonder if today will be the day... it does feel so exciting, don't you think? I don't have much time, but if I find him, and if he finds me... what a lovely day it would be!
[tl;dr ooc; So, a bit of a modified Little Mermaid story, combining the Hans Christian Andersen version with the Disney broadway version and SPLASH, shut up because I can. :| Mermaid Meg image image here which I was going to use then remembered... dresses. :D;;
Also the device is just hers but she doesn't know it and thinks it's a magical human treasure. Feel free to be any of her sisters or her fishy friends-- she's already made the trade with the sea witch for legs! And she can't talk in human tongue but she'll learn! The song can just sound like it was in a different language or the device translated it :3
Also the song she's singing is the beginning of this one without the guys. :D
