Feedback call

I signed up for
scifibigbang this year. The project I'm working on is something new, based on the Balance of Power RPG I was part of back...about seven or eight years ago, but I've imported the characters from the RPG into one of my original 'verses and have been changing some of the things in it so that they work better in that context. I do a lot better when I have reader feedback (or in the case of SW, a co-creator) while I'm working on things. It helps me process and figure out whether the things I think make sense actually MAKE sense outside my head, and it helps me figure out whether things I think are boring and predictable really are. My superpower and/or psychological problem is the ability to figure out every nuance of a plot within the first ten minutes or ten pages. Supremely unhelpful in the real world, let me tell you.

I'm looking for a small group of people (up to ten, probably around five, if I can get it.) who can read through my notes, outlines, and eventual chapter drafts and offer content specific feedback.

I like constructive criticism. What I mean by constructive criticism is: if you like something, say so; if you don't like something, say so and provide me with a meaningful suggestion for what I can do differently. It doesn't do me any good to hear someone say, "I don't like the idea of Joe-Bob being obsessed with pineapples." or "That scene was boring/confusing/been done a million times." If I put the idea into the story, it's the best idea I could come up with. What I'm looking for is, "I don't like this; try that or maybe do this instead."

I'm going to be looking at specific issues or things that I am concerned about with the material. When I ask questions like that, I need people who are willing to take the time to respond to the question and give me a reaction.

The rules of this challenge state that I'm not allowed to post the story here until the writing period ends. That means I'm going to be sending stuff by email attachment.

If any of those things are problematic for you (time constraints, email problems, whatever) it's okay, don't feel obligated to volunteer. I would rather you didn't than have you on a list of people I was waiting for responses from and wondering if the story just sucked so bad that you gave up reading it.

Some other things to consider:

-The main characters are bisexual men who are at various points going to make out with each other. There will be implied (not graphic) sex. If you can't deal with that, this story isn't for you.

-My stories are about things. They have plots. They are meant to make readers think and characters wrestle with social issues and ideas that they might not be completely comfortable with. They are not excuses for smut, and they don't feature overgrown teenagers who never really left high school. If you are a perv or you don't like to think about what you are reading and pay attention, this story is probably not for you.
