Last thursday, Tom, Alice and I flew down to San Francisco. We went to dinner with Boriss and Akiva at a tasty...Moroccan? restaurant and then slept.

Friday, we wandered the city, going to the Castro to by toe-shoes for Tom and Alice, and then to North Beach. We walked to the Golden Gate Bridge (still beautiful), and then took a bus back to North Beach for tasty Italian food. Then we saw John Oliver of The Daily Show doing standup. He was pretty awesome (something about penguins), as was the MC ("What did I do last night while drunk?" "Oh man, it was pretty bad. You drove a boat into the Smithsonian!"). The actual opener (Comedy shows have openers?) was pretty bad though: mostly ranting about "kids these days" on the Facebooknets.

Saturday, we went to the Maker Faire. It was awesome and exciting and I ran into a billion people I know, including pvck, Aaron, and lots of CMU people. Then we (Akiva, me, Alice, Tom, Boriss, Boriss' friend, jnesky, Emily) returned to San Francisco for food at Uva.

Sunday, we ate delicious crepes for breakfast and then went to see UP!, which was very good, if not excellent. Then Tom, Alice and I flew back to Seattle and I worked forever.

In the process of working forever, I found a counterexample to my proof, which is Interesting, but not Bad.

This week, I've mostly been working on fixing the proof (proving a weaker thing) and frolicking in the stunningly amazing weather. Tuesday, Alice and I watched Wrath of Khan, which was fun. Thursday was Thirsty Thursday and then talking to Cynthia for a while.
