Wednesday night, Tom, Alice, Jess and I attempted to get chocolate cake and failed due to tired.
Thursday, I flew uneventfully to SFO and then proceded to the Watermelon. Immediately upon my arrival, Akiva and I left to go to dinner at The Garlic Restaurant with Em and Nick. It was moderately delicious and exciting. We then returned and I talked to Akiva and Boris for a while before going to sleep.
Friday, everyone had work, so I wandered the city by myself. I went via the the Haight to Golden Gate Park, then up to the Presidio and the Golden Gate Brdge. I saw the fort under the bridge and hyng around on some of the old gun emplacements west of the Bridge for a while, and then headed east to North Beach and then down to downtown before taking a bus back to Akiva's. There I met up with him and Boris, and we went to see The Day the Earth Stood Still, which was wretched. Afterwards, we went on a quest for cake and succeeded, and then we slept.
The next morning, Akiva, Boris and I ate crepes and then met up with dfontain. He drove us to the Academy of Science, where we met Emily and Dan Blanford. We went to the museum, especially the planetarium (silly, but fun), and then met uo with Psyfe outside. We all returned to Akiva's house, and a triple of Boris' Mozilla people showed up, and then Carmen!. Having collected our troops, we went to dinner at Uva, a delicious and mildly weird Italian restaurant. Afterwards, we lost Boris' people and Psyfe, and the rest of us went to the beach and somehow managed to get a fire started in the wind. We roasted marshmellows and declared ourselves the Eight Hobo Kings of Old. My hobo name is Zebulon Spokes! Then, dispersal and sleep.
Sunday, Akiva and I ate delicious sushis after a moderately arduous quest, and then went to buy me shoes. In the shoe store, we heard about Bush having a shoe thrown at him. Then we went to SuperHappyDevHouse and hung out with Kathleen and her people. When that finished, Akiva and I met up with Andrei and Lisa, as well as Martin, Lisa's boyfriend, and Asheesh, a friend of Lisa's, as well as of mrwright and Wes. We had dinner in the Mission and it was delicious. Then, sleep.
Monday, I met with Em for lunch, and then wandered around for a bit, eventually spending a fair amount of time in three different coffeeshops and an ice cream shop, due to wind and rain. I took this time to read on the Internet about how Claratin is entirely ineffectual.
Then, I met Akiva and Carmen in a coffeeshop that happened to be playing The Big Lebowski. We got foor at an entirely nonsketchy burger place, and then we went to see Amanda Fucking Palmer. This was a completely amazing show. The opener was The Butchers and the Builders, of whom I had never heard, but who I will need to track down. The second opener was Vermillion Lies, who were awesome. Then there was a magician. Then, finally, to live violin music and the sound of Neil Gaiman telling us about Amanda Palmer's death, she was carried out and began to play. Apparently, she is phenomenal. When she tours next, you should all go see her.
Finally, I slept.
Yesterday, I flew to Newark. This involved Boris' car not starting and being stuck in Chicago for an arbitrary amount of time, but I eentually made it.
Today involved Christmas shopping and my parents and I accidentally attending our town's nice Christmas party.
