Lots of interesting things have happened in the past few weeks. Allie showed up in Pittsburgh at some point, so we hung out some, although I was exploding from grading.
A week ago was the long awaited weekend I spent with Jess, because we had not both spent the same weekend in town in forever. We did some nice wandering and on Sunday went up the Space Needle (terrifying!). Allie was with us much of the time. That Saturday we went to Alice&Kathleen&Alex&Matthew's housecooling party, which was very nice.
Monday I helped Alice, Kathleen and Jonathan move into their new house (deeply exhausting) and graded a lot. I also was examined algorithmswise in the morning, and spent some time wandering Google Fremont in confusion with Laura and Aaron.
Tuesday was more grading.
Wednesday was proctoring and grading the 341 exam. Geat fun.
Thursday was lots of little things. Briefly beforel eaving for Pittsburgh, I spilled Lysol in my eyes while cleaning my bathroom. This meant I spent twenty minutes rinsing them out, and then calling poison control. Apparently that sort Lysol is not horrible, merely irritating. Also, apparently you should call poison control from a landline in a real emergency, because I was connected to one in NJ, due to my NJ phone. Then Abe graciously drove me to the airport, where I took forever to get to Pittsburgh.
I got to Pittsburgh much later than expected due to airplane chicanery, and thus essentially lost tw thirds of a day. Sadly, this meant I failed to see a few good people I was hoping to see. However, after much lazing, lea and I rousted ourselves to ice cream, acquiring a Chrisamaphone, a jcreed, a csjackso and an ntr on the way. Mild adventures were followed by Fuddling.
Saturday, Chris, jcreed, gwillen, Paul and I went climbing, and then ate at D's, where I had never gone before, but which was delicious. Then Akiva arrived, so we went to Spice Island with him. Later, there was a cupcake, and then we watched Some Like it Hot at Sherbrook. There was a Liz, too! Finally, a walk with Akiva was good, and some sitting in Sherbrook was also good.
Today I missed a useful bus to the airport, and was on hold with a cab company for half an hour. However, miraculously, a cab just appeared, so I was able to get the airport on time. In New Jersey, I have eaten tasty food with my family - Emily + Laurel K. Also, cookies!
Tomorrow, there are many thing to do. Maybe I will see Granger?
