I have hadden adventures.

Thursday night, I flew to Pittsburgh. On the 28X from the airport, I encountered John McCall, and we spent the busride discussing GADTs and other PLy things. Once at CMU, I found some people, including Akiva, and we grabbed John again, as well as dkitch, and wandered Pittsburgh in search of food. By that point, most things were closed or full, so we eventually got sandwiches at Primanti's. Eating them, we heard a nice lesson in organic chem from one of our party members. After this, Akiva and I stopped by Maggie Mo to see lea, and then walked back to Sherbrook, and I slept.

The next day, Friday, I walked to campus with Chris in mid afternoon. She went off, and I hung around Midway and looked at Booths. I ran into some people there, including Em. The sun was being disasterously noticeable, so we eventually went to the Underground. From there, we went to Seven and then to the UC where some people were playing games. After a bit, and some beef jerky, a big group of us went to Mellon, where we went to the KGB dinner.

This was amazing. I got a KGB scarf (which I think is still in Sherbrook, sadly), and saw many (~175?) old and new people. At some point, I gave some ocifer reports, for 1VP and CorSec, as all old ocifers were giving reports. I got wave my hand and shout in a room of about 200 KGBers. During these reports, Kat and Ed arrived. At some point later on, Kat, Alan, Akiva, lea, jcreed and I ran off to Midway for a bit. Alan and I came back, but the others did not. I helped clean up the rooms in Mellon, and then I ran off with Liz for a bit and talked to her. Then I walked back to Wean, and then met Jess in Seven and walked back to Squill. Then I went to Sherbrook and slept.

Friday morning, I had vague intentions of going to Pamela's with Kat. However, we were a bit late getting out the door and so did not have time to go there. Instead, we went to 61C and got smoothies and cake for breakfast. Afterwards was the KGB lunch.

This was amazing. We had a whole bunch of people give committee reports, and then the storytelling committee gave a report. As expected, the highlight of this was the final story, from the incomparable Mr. Paul Mazaidas. I, and many others, remain amazed at this man's ability to tell a story, and to make a point. Much thanks to him for the immortal words, "You are not doing it wrong."

Other people have already said wonderful things about the KGB, and about its members, so I will refrain. But, hey, you're all wonderful people, and thanks for the years of awesomeness. I miss you guys.

After lunch, we went to lunch. Akiva and lea had arrived late and so had not eaten. Thus, we went out for what was, hands down, the worst sushi I have ever had. It was mindblowingly bad. This done, we returned to Midway to look at booths again. Akiva eventually ran off to a Seder, and lea took some people to the CoDe lab (which I avoided so as not to be too crowded), so Abe and I ran off with dfontain to have dinner with Old People, organized by Paul. We ate dinner at a tasty Hungarian restaurant in South American Gods Land, also hight Hazelwood. I am convinced that the owner was Vlad Taltos' father, although I expect said fictional character was significantly less laid back than our host.

Afterwards was party. It was crowded and warm and beautiful. I only spent a bit of time at the actual party, due to heat and numbers of people, but I did go for a walk with Kat, and a longer one with Akiva. We spoke at length. After the main party was over, I sat in dlstern's apartment and talked to some people. Then, to Sherbrook and sleep.

Sunday was relaxed. Akiva left morningish. Then I went with some people to crepes, which were delicious. Then climbing. At about the time we were done climbing, Chris and William showed up, so we stayed for them, and climbed some more. This meant I was completely exhausted by the time we left. Here, Kat left. Everyone else got cupcakes and discussed asynchronous relationship graphs. Then I returned to Sherbrook and talked to lea some, mostly about facades. Abe commenced cooking, and lea went to do actualy work (mostly about facades), so I walked to campus. I ran into Em, briefly saw Wes and rlambert leave; went to Wean. There Em and I grabbed jcreed and headed back to Sherbrook for delicious Abe-food. After dinner, there was some laying abouit and discussion. Then I ran off with lea and talked for about an hour or two, which was very good. After I was kicked out of her room so she could think more about facades (or perhaps sleep), I walked to campus. I found Em briefly, and then went to Wean in search of Alan. Instead, I found Tom and Car, and said hi. Then I walked to Sherbrook and slept.

Monday I went to the CoDe lab and, as usual, failed to find anyone. The rest of the day was spent hanging about with jcreed and talking. Eventually we met Alan at Uncle Sam's, which remains delicious. Then stopped briefly by the KGB meeting (elections!) and ran to catch a plane, which I used to return to Seattle, via Atlanta.
