I have had ovenchars. The end of my quarter was chaotic and full of grading, networks project, networks exam, and some small amount of research. Then I flew to Pittsburgh.
In Pittsburgh, I had some adventures, and saw lots of people. Most of my time, however, was taken by getting a final draft of my FOOL paper prepared. I also pulled together a rough presentation and gave a practice talk, but it still needs lots of work.
Also, there was Spice Island, KGB, a penny rolling party and much talking to Liz.
Tuesday, Akiva, Chris, William and I drove to my parents' house in NJ. We stayed the night and then ran off to NYC for some time. Thereat, we saw KAT!.
That evening, we found Karen and went to vegetarian dim sung with her, and then ate cannoli. Then I ran off with her to a coffeeshop for a bit.
The next day, Akiva, Kat, Chris, William and I, and two of William's friends saw Spamalot. Arranging this involved visiting the Jane Street OCaml Mines, where I have some thoughts of trying to work this summer. We then ate tasty Fondue, and then went to the show. It was pretty good, but I suspect it would have been much better if I hadn't seen the movie eight billion and half times.
The next day, we died (with Ed) of chocolate overdose at Max Brenner's (a restaurant I recommend to everyone who does not actually die from chocolate). Then, sadly, Chris and William left. Then began the crazy adventure of getting Kylara, Tomko, Ed, Julie, Misha, Laurel, Kat, Akiva and me in one place. Kylara is apparently from a CREEPY ALTERNATE UNIVERSE where Penn Station is laid out differently, although cell phone service works interuniversally. Eventually, we found everyone, and we ate Indian food.
The next day was museuming with Allie and Allie's Friend What Looks Like Gary Oldman. That night was exhausted collapse and watching some BBC comedy called Black Books, which was pretty funny.
The next day was Sunday. Tom Cauchois showed up in the morning, and we went to a diner for breakfast. Then I trained home. That evening, I saw National Treasuer Two. I already forget what happened in it. After that, I did ALL OF MY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING.
Today was lazy. I managed to see Granger for a bit, on his Christmas shopping, but missed Fi and Alex K-N by mere minutes. Oh well.
Tomorrow is Christmas.
