It was Christmas, and as much as Victoire loved her family, rooming with Lily, Desiree and Rose on Christmas Eve could be exhausting. There was only so much of little girl babbling one could handle, even around the holidays. She left, with some little excuse that the other girls didn't pay attention.
She went to the kitchen and prepared herself some cocoa in dim light, before wandering into the living room, deciding to curl up by the banked fire in the hearth for warmth, stopping partway into the room, tugging on the braid her long hair was in to keep it even as she started into the room, only noticing the movement on the couch after she prepared to sit down. "Who's there?"
Teddy Lupin hadn't intended to be seen, and he sat up from the sofa-bed. "It's just me." He said finally. "I just got here." Andromeda hadn't been happy about parting with her beloved grandson on Christmas, but since she had had Christmas Eve with him, Teddy was able to convince her to allow him to spend the holiday with Harry and the extended Weasley family. "I just got here."
"Teddy!" Victoire said happily, forgetting the idea of sitting by the hearth, and instead curled up on the sofa-bed next to Teddy. "I missed you." She said softly, taking a sip of her cocoa. "I thought you weren't coming this year."
"I know, I'm late." Teddy said, smiling at her. "It's started snowing outside." She put one of his chilled hands on her cheek. "See, it's cold outside."
Victoire shivered and curled closer, to him, wrapping her arms around him. "I'll keep you warm." She smiled and relaxed against him, wrapping a blanket around them.
Teddy certainly wasn't going to complain about that, and tugged gently at the uncharacteristic braid, before leaning in and kissing her heatedly, suddenly glad for the snow falling outside late on Christmas Eve.
