So...

I just saw the new Harry Potter film.

Wow...what the hell did I just see?

I'd type more, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone here.

Just...wow.

At least the one scene that I hated the most in the books didn't make it to the film. Thank god for that!

*SPOILERS!*

Okay, the scene I was referring to was when Lupin appeared at Grimmauld Place to try and join the trio on their mission. I always hated that scene in the book so much!
I mean, I know that J.K Rowling was attempting to show how guilty Lupin felt now that Tonks was pregnant and how, in his mind anyway, he had made her and their future child victims.
Honestly though, the entire scene only made Lupin look like a complete and utter asshole!

I was so relieved to see that it had not made it into the film at all. Instead, if anything, Lupin is happy that Tonks is pregnant. Not that they ever get to announce it properly; Tonks is cut off by Mad Eye while she is trying to tell Harry, but her and Lupin are only ever shown being happy together.

So, that's the scene I was referring to anyway!

This film is really dark. I mean, really, REALLY dark.
They're not even trying to remotely aim it towards children anymore. There are quite a number of violent scenes in the film, but most shocking of all for me was the scene in the forest where the locket horcrux shows Ron this image of Harry and Hermione making out with each other...naked. They're really going for it too!
That kind of weirded me out to be honest. Seeing the two of them being so intimate with each other seemed almost incestous after seeing them grow up together throughout the films.

Wow, I could go on for ages!

Were there any scenes in particular from the film that you wanted to know more about?

Oh wow! I wondered how they would handle the Lupin/Tonks bit about going on the mission with them - glad to know it's not there. And I agree, it would've made Lupin look like an utter ass.

I knew about the Harry/Hermione snog - and since I am a slight H/HR shipper, it'll provide fodder for my overactive imagination. ;)

I'm really interested in the Snape, Malfoy, Voldemort scenes - I love what I've seen so far. How close to the books are they in your opinion?

Go on for ages, spill your guts... I don't mind. ;)

Oh man, if you're Harry/Hermione shipper, than this film certainly caters to you. I swear Steve Kloves is a Harry/Hermione shipper himself.

Snape doesn't get an awful lot of screen time in this movie, but when he does, he is mostly shown with this pained, remorseful look on his face. It's very sad, as he looks genuinely torn up about having to align himself with the Death Eaters. He also has amazing hair. They must have changed his wig or something, because he suddenly looks a walking shampoo commercial, well, that or a new member of Charlie's Angels.

Draco also doesn't receive much screen time. He is shown a few times at Malfoy Manor, and has barely any lines. You can see, however, that he is starting to regret his ties to Voldemort. He is asked to identify Harry at one point, and although he clearly recognises him, it is clear that he does not want to admit it, and so he chooses to remain silent. He looks petrified in every scene and looks as though he'd like nothing more than to escape the Death Eaters.

Voldemort is AWESOME in this film. He is delighted to be back in power and he just generally kicks butt.
