I do these at the end of every year-an end-of-year fanfic quiz and an end-of-year fandom quiz
Year-End Fanfic Quiz
Favorite:
“
The Mirror, Mirror on the Wall Affair” (MFU)
Best:
Again, “The Mirror, Mirror on the Wall Affair”
Most underappreciated by the universe:
…I can’t say that any of my fics weren’t appreciated, tbh. At least this year.
Most fun to write:
“
The Moonlit Gulch Affair” (MFU)
Most intense fic:
“
The Ghosts in the Night Affair” (MFU)
Saddest fic:
…I don’t think I wrote any sad fics...
Funniest fic:
…It’s a toss-up between loopy Illya in “
On the Mend” or loopy Napoleon in “
Give and Take”
Fic that shifted my own perception of the characters:
The expanded version of “
Walk the Wire,” (MFU/A-Team) for a number of reasons-first, it drew the differences between Napoleon & Illya vs Stockwell & Ivan
Hardest to do:
“
For the Man Who has Everything” (MFU); it was hard because the challenge was trying to see what gifts a non-materialistic person like Illya would give Napoleon, and it was also because of what the fic itself signified.
Biggest disappointment:
Too many ideas, not enough time. Yet again.
Biggest surprise:
That I got swept up in MFU fic.
Most telling:
“
Lost and Found” (MFU)--the love and concern Napoleon and Illya have for each other is most often unspoken but known, and having that spelled out can be powerful indeed.
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted?
Less. As usual.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?
MFU. I really didn't it would be more than a casual fandom, but then it just took over.
Did you take any writing risks this year?
A new fandom is always a risk...
Do you have any fanfic goals for the New Year?
Write more MFU fics, including some multichapter ones.
