I have more MFU screencaps! I watched Darren's episode yesterday and the Suburbia Affair today--didn't get as many pics from the latter as I was watching it while eating lunch, but I got a couple. Darren's ep screencaps are here, here, here, here, here, here, and here; the Suburbia ones are here and here.

And I also made a new tumblr header for myself here.

As I suspected, Darren's villain, Karmak, is now tied with Gazebodorf as my favorite villain--I think it's interesting that the premise of both villains is that they want revenge because Napoleon left them to die in the jungle, and they both go about it by kidnapping Illya as bait and then toy with them.

Additionally, Victor Borge's character, Rutter/Willoughby, is tied with Shari Lewis's character, Janet Jarrod, as my favorite Innocent. I'm not 100% sold on Rutter's insistence that he has amnesia as far as his antimatter research is concerned--that smirk he had seems to hint that he's just faking the amnesia for his own protection. And it does have me wanting to take that Carmen plotbunny I had with the Messenger getting caught in a Warp Zone and end up in a place where he's hailed as a savoir/Chosen One and change it to Napoleon--with Illya begging Rutter's help in finding a way to open the dimensional portal so he can find Napoleon, who's currently being hailed as the savior/Chosen One of this place he's ended up in. I admittedly feel kind of bad for taking an idea I'd been so excited to use for Carmen and using it for MFU instead, but with MFU taking over my muse, plus the fact that I'll get more of an audience with MFU, my mind seems to be made up. I might do a Carmen version as a drabble or something, but I can't quite shake the idea of Rutter admitting his amnesia was a ruse and doing what he can to help Illya find Napoleon.

As far as Carmen fics go, I will still be finishing up the Colorado fic (at some point, I swear), and still intend to do the Turn Left fic, as well. Before that, there are other fics I must write first--first, the first mission(s) fic for Napoleon and Illya; my idea of how they met (TV-verse, obviously) and how they got their promotions to the top two men of Section II. Secondly, a Doctor Who/Man from UNCLE crossover involving Napoleon and Illya running afoul of Weeping Angels and getting stuck in the 1920s, but then crossing paths with the Doctor and Jamie, who help them get back to the 60s. Third, the post-Gurnius Affair fic I've been planning since I heard of the episode. And fourth, the sequel to my Doctor Who fic, "Metamorphosis," which will be for Pat's birthday at the end of March. Gah, so many ideas, and so little time!

And, in other news, the Pokémon 20th Anniversary is almost upon us. Oh, gosh, I feel old. I'm currently doing a gifmaking challenge as we count down to the 27th (the anniversary date--you can see my first entry here), and the Twitch Plays Pokémon crew has started up their shenanigans today in celebration of both the 20th Anniversary, as well as their own 2nd Anniversary of setting up shop with this "1000+ people playing a game at the same time" idea. The challenge is to beat a special romhack of Pokémon Crystal where they have to beat 16 gym leaders and catch 251 Pokémon. It took them more than a month last year to do 8 gym leaders and catch 151 for the 1st anniversary Red run; one wonders how much difficulty they'll have in pulling it off. I have no doubt that they'll succeed--they've done the impossible before, including last year's run when the run nearly went dead in the water because their one good 'mon, a Charizard, was released (and for the purposes of this game, release means essentially dead and gone) and then, days later, crashed the game three times because they kept trying to summon Missingno (which as admittedly as hilarious as it was vexing)--the question is how long will it take them, and what disasters and triumphs and hilarity will happen along the way? I aim to follow and find out, especially since I've run out of MFU episodes to watch until I get the DVDs. The crew, having just started, currently has only a Bulbasaur and a Rattata, and are struggling their way through Viridian City to reach the Forest. Arceus help them/us all...

pokémon, the man from uncle, doctor who, story ideas, random, where in the world is carmen sandiego
