Icon! Made by madzilla; isn't it cute? From the second Mario & Luigi RPG game, Partners in Time ...Though I'm sure the Doctor is headdesking against the TARDIS console due to the extreme paradox of the brothers being in physical contact with their past selves. Anyway ( Read more... )

Cute icon indeed!

I'm definitely excited with the Super Mario Super Show. I totally hadn't expected much from the cartoons after your earlier comments and the one episode from the Mario 3 show I saw. But the Super Show really is excellent. I'm glad it has the most episodes of any of the series. I wish those missing live-action skits would turn up somewhere, though. I did see one of them on YouTube, but it seemed to be dubbed in Polish or some other language, so I hadn't tried to watch since I'd be totally lost.

It's both amusing and exasperating to have a series that does the "pick-and-choose your canon" thing. I like to have a canon spelled out. But it is fun to fill in the gaps, like the Brooklyn/Mushroom Kingdom thing.

Interesting about the Doctor Who parallels in the time-travel game. And about the reporter, too. Very surprising for a Mario game. What happens to her?

Yep!

Oh, I definitely hadn't expected much from it, either. But yes, definitely glad that it has more eps! And aww, yeah. Well, at least we can be confident that they're out there somewhere, rather than the mess with the missing Doctor Who eps...

LOL, yes.

Very surprising indeed--especially since said reporter is a Koopa! Kylie Koopa is her name, but she's most definitely an ally; she ends up saving the brothers from the Shroobs at one point, but they overpower her and turn her into a Shroob--in the end of the game, she's turned back to normal by Little Luigi's tears.

Very good point.

Oooh wow. That's really neat, to see a decent Koopa! Better than for the whole race to be corrupt.

Oh, sad. But that's squeeful that Luigi's heartbreak saves her!

Yep.

Yes, it was very squeeful to see that! There was a friendly Koopa in the first game, too, but with a much minor role; if you help him get his bearings in the beginning of the game, he gives you a 1-up Mushroom as thanks. But Kylie actively helps the brothers out and, as mentioned before, saves them.

Welllll, that wasn't quite how it worked out. They were upset that she got converted, of course, but it was by complete accident that they found out that Little Luigi's tears served as an antidote for the conversion.

Yes, so awesome. I wonder if anyone's written fics where she's around after Mario and Luigi grow up. I wonder what she would think of Bowser always trying to take over and if she would support him because he's a Koopa or not.

LOL. Well, I hadn't figured it would have been deliberate. Most fairytaleish freeings from curses seem to be by accident, even say, Emma saving Henry at the end of season 1. That is, she seemingly hadn't done it knowing it would save him, to my remembrance.

A quick look on FFN tells me, alas, no--there's only one fic where she's a main character, and it's some random cracky fic. Still, that leaves it open for me to write it, I suppose! She makes a brief appearance in the latest installment, though--and Bowser is actively on the warpath in that one, yet she's most definitely there to help the bros out, so I would assume she wouldn't support Bowser at all.

LOL, yeah. And yes, it was; she was kissing him out of despair because she thought she'd lost him. Two eps before the 3B finale, she was ready to do so consciously with the intent of breaking the curse, but Zelena messed things up, and Regina ended up kissing him, but not with the intent of breaking the curse--she was kissing him out of relief.

That's good to hear! Pity there's no fics with her, though. That would be awesome if you wrote one!

It's a lot more powerful those ways, I think.

I probably will, once I actually play through the game!

*nodnod* Oh, and I heard somewhere (not sure of the source, so taking it with a grain of salt), that Regina won't turn evil again due to the Maid Marian fiasco, but her friendship with Emma will be severely set back. I still don't like it, but, if it's true, it's definitely better than the alternative. I still have to watch out for Elsa and my most hated trope, though. Ugh.

Awesome!

Yes, hopefully she won't. That's sad about her friendship with Emma, though.

Bleh. Yeah, that's scary to think that something like that might happen. Hopefully not, though. I read that their intention is that Elsa is misunderstood and not evil. If she freezes a person and then ... shatters ... that would be way evil. Unless she couldn't control it, but to shatter after freezing would surely take a lot of control.

Indeed.

*shudder* Let's hope it's a case of misunderstanding, then. ...Which begs the question as to who the villain will be. Oh dear.

And speaking of OUAT, I had an absolutely bizarre dream last night where Baelfire/Neal was alive... and he stole my car. ...I swear it made perfect sense in my dream, but then when I woke up, I couldn't remember some of the key details, so it makes no sense anymore to me, LOL.

Perhaps Hans, a nasty fellow in the movie. Hmmm. Although he doesn't have magic, and they like their villains to have magic.

LOL. He stole the car to get home!

Ooh, possibly (LOL, I've never seen the movie, but I know 90% of it thanks to tumblr endlessly reblogging about it). Maybe he might go after some artifacts that give him magic?

LOL, perfect. And it was snowy/icy...

(I haven't seen it, either, but I'd like to for the sibling squee.) Interesting thought! I don't know if he actually wants magic or if he just wants political power, but I suppose that with Once's habit of twisting characters around, they might decide to make him interested in magic even if the movie version isn't.

Elsa made her first snowstorm in the modern world!
