...You can tack on another name to my list of fangirl crushes: Steve Barton. I've always loved him since first hearing him as Raoul back in '05 when I first heard the Phantom highlights, but I never really crushed on him until now. ...Or did I? I dunno, honestly. I *did* write four sonnets for him back then (don't bother looking for them, they're not posted anywhere), so maybe...
Whatever; it's a full-fledged fangirl crush now (meaning there's now a tag for him in my journal; the post dedicated to his awesomeness was put up a few days ago). Not sure what exactly brought it about, but it's probably a combination of annoyance at him getting only a passing mumble in the 25th Anniversary of Phantom thing (for shame, Lloyd Webber...), plus discovering the existence of a book of pics taken behind the scenes during the original London production of Phantom--the photographer had apparently hung out with Steve a lot, and well... in the preview excerpt from Google, there was some awesome stuff of Steve--both anecdotes (I LOL'd when the guy was saying that when they were trying to figure out how Old Raoul should look like in the prologue, Steve complained that one of the end results made him look like Abraham Lincoln. LOLOL, oh, Steve...) and pics. I want that book so badly, but it's quite expensive, and after my recent splurge, there's no way I'll be able to get it now. Ah, well...
...This may or may not be a prelude to my return to the Phantom fandom. At any rate, expect Raoul to play a role in the Yami Louis fic, when I get to it.
