The 30-Day Disney meme, day 22, plus other stuff...

LOL, wow. So, I my satellite guide was showing that the Chiller channel was showing a bunch of the classic Outer Limits eps. I already have Simon Oakland's ep on my DVR and have already seen Richard Dawson's, but I still decided to skim through the summaries anyway and see who was in them. So, I'm reading through the names in one of the eps... "Robert Duvall... Howard Caine... **double take** Howard Caine!?"

So, I ended up skimming through it; Howard played an intelligence agent who hand picked a special agent to infiltrate a bunch of aliens who had set up camp in the woods (however, the method of infiltration leaves something to be desired--they genetically modify their agent to look like one of them. Urgh...). It was interesting, seeing him play a major-role good guy (since, you know, Hochstetter has zero redeeming qualities whatsoever). I also like how, through the entire thing, he wanted to give the aliens the benefit of the doubt about whether or not they meant any harm (that their earlier actions of attacking a passing squad had been out of fear, not malice), and how he categorically opposed the general who just wanted to take them all out.

Anyway, yes, an interesting change from Hochstetter.

And the 30-Day Disney movie, Day 22: An underrated movie

The Great Mouse Detective. Considering that this movie was what kick-started the Disney Renaissance, you would think it would be more promoted and appreciated than it is. Plus, Vincent Price playing Ratigan--really, how can you go wrong?
