You know, most the time I can't decide if my family's the strangest thing ever or completely normal. Yeah, my dad is and isn't my dad (and happens to be bloody rich), and I'm married to a half alien, but we all love each other and see each other a lot, and sometimes we even eat together like normal ordinary people ( Read more... )

Besides, a wedding ring is enough jewellery for me. I don't know how your mother might have gotten any other impression.

I think I managed to shake her off at least temporarily when I pointed out that wearing dangly things around my neck would probably get me strangled.

I give it half an hour before she remembers the tie, by which time I'll have reinforced the doors.

How about a separate front door that temporarily puts her into another dimension to give me time enough to hide?

Might work in the short term, but it'd probably just make her madder. ;)

She doesn't need to know. You can just tell her I'm out of the house!

Well, I know if I suddenly go through another dimension that you've got nothing to do with it.

Well the trick is to make sure I only put her in a dimension that looks exactly like our place. She'll never know the difference!

Why don't you hide in the other dimension? Wouldn't that be easier?

Well the alternative is your mother stop telling me how to dress, and we both know that's never going to happen.

I was thinking I could start wearing a watch and create a microdimension in that. Then I'll always have it with me. Providing I remember to put it on every morning.

Am I invited to this microdimension?

Of course! There's always enough room for you in anything I make these days. It's sort of a requirement.
