cidercupcakes is currently running Home Team 2009, which is an all-girl pan-fandom cage match for great lols. Some of the choices are freaking awesome, and I encourage everyone to go vote and have fun promoting your favourite characters.
Why I'm posting this here is that Rose is in the running (of course I nominated her!) but she's up against a formidable opponent in Ginny Weasley, who has the benefit of 1) being awesome, normally I would vote for her over almost any other character, especially since she gets dissed so much by so many people in HP fandom, and 2) being in a bigger fandom / having better name recognition (at least, that seems likely to me). Right now as I type Ginny is kicking Rose's ass, and that makes me very sad.
So! What can you do? Well, you can GO VOTE (Rose's match is in Part Four of the poll) and try to help Rose have a respectable showing, at least! Also, both Donna and Martha are in the running as well, though they both are in crazy-hard races as well, I thought! And Gwen and Tosh are in there too! But no matter who wins, we all win, in celebrating awesome female characters, am I right? Voting is until midnight EST on Monday the 3rd! Tell all your friends!
