A short update.

So. I have INNUMERABLE PROJECTS that I have to really get a head start on - I'm super retentive about dates at the moment and decided I must have ALL MINE AND MY FRIENDS COSTUMES FOR THE YEARLY CON AND HALLOWEEN COMPLETED BEFORE THE END OF AUGUST.

I don't know why. And that is why after I post this I'm going to spend my evening (past ten thirty) patterning for my friends Artemis cosplay pantsuit, which I was supposed to work on this week, but got distracted by paid work. I am a bad skittle dalek.

On a working front - I have the gorgeous arctic white dupioni and alecon lace bridal gown slooooowly getting started (because I live at the bottom of the world in a hell pit of fabric nothingness, I have to ship, and some places take longer than others. My lace is fast approaching a month shipping time) I have the front section of the bodice plus boning channels constructed.

(Interior of wedding dress bodice - boning will provide a small level of support and encourage the bodice to retain its shape)

(Arctic white bodice - I wash my hands compulsively before I touch it - and front cover panel of Suu corset.)

I have the Suu corset of awesome started as well. I'm awaiting a shipment of corsetry supplies because I'm out of busks and boning tips (kind of important) but I have all the pieces cut out and I'm doing basic assembly. At the moment the quandry is the best method for making the straps that go across the front, because those have to be anchored in place before I start assembling the main body of the corset. I could construct it a different way which would give me more leniency on this matter, but I feel it's a less structurally sound method and seeing as this corset is for a con I want it as durable as possible.

I've also been commissioned to make a gorgeous fifties inspired black and white cocktail dress. It's to have a three layer tulle underskirt, moire taffeta slip, and a wonderful black polka dot tulle overlay over pure white satin. It's going to be looooovely.
