12 - Have you ever attempted an "adaptation" fic of a favorite book or movie but set in a different fandom?

Edit: I forgot until just now... way, way back in my Cats fandom phase, I once tried to write a fic that was (wait for it) The Princess Bride. But with cats. :B

Went to visit my parents for Sunday dinner this past weekend. Mom reminded me while I was there that we aren't doing Christmas presents this year.
My oldest brother and sister-in-law can't afford to spend a lot of money, so we're cancelling Christmas so they don't feel obligated to buy presents for anyone. Except their kids, of coruse. They're the only ones getting presents this year.
And to be honest I'm... kinda relieved. The itty-bitty part of me that's still 10 years old and super excited about Christmas morning is sad, but the truth is that it's a lot of money and a lot of hard work to think of presents to buy for my family.
The funny thing is, I am still working on last year's present: a bound book form of my mom's family recipes. And, depending on how much it costs, everyone in the family may be getting a copy.
As for myself, I think I'll probably give myself a Christmas present of a new set of pans... Once they go on sale for the holidays of course. :D
