'Life' fic: Interim

This fic is for Life, a fabulous show that you should be watching. All eleven season one episodes are available in the US through online streaming here. I wrote a brief explanation about the show premise a few months ago, mostly because I wanted to post pictures of Damian Lewis.

Okay, I'm not a big Charlie/Connie fan, but I love how you portrayed her from Charlie's POV - as the light to his darkness, the purity to his filthy world. Very cool.
The scenes of Charlie suffering in prison were very real, raw, and touching. I particularly loved your hinting towards why Charlie, post-prison, talks so much (kind of rambling on); many times, seemingly, to himself. "...he can't help it. There's no one else to hear but the guards, and if they hate him, he still exists." What an excellent line! So long as someone, anyone, acknowledges that he's talking, he's still alive. Once he stops, his spirit has died. No wonder why he talks Reese's ear off! Haha!
You mentioned Charlie's scars. I was surprised that the show's creators showed nary a one on Crews' entire upper body, during the 1st season. At least none that I noticed...nor any tattoos. I mean, having gotten 240+ stitches while he was in prison, you'd think the man would have at least SOME scars showing on his neck, chest, back, arms, etc. Yet, in the infamous "shirtless, with cupcakes" scene (when Connie finds him on the floor after "playing" with his young women friends), Charlie's skin looks totally unmarred. Beautiful & sexy-as-hell...not a scar in sight. I think that was a pretty big oversight on the director's part.
