Season 3 episode 4 of Stranger Things - Nancy and Jonathan have a disagreement about a choice Nancy made that had repercussions for both of them. The argument showcases how their different life experiences (based on gender and social class) led them to their opposing perspectives. Neither character "wins" the argument, because it's not that kind of situation.

Later Nancy talks to her mother. It's a nuanced discussion about Nancy's choices; the topic of "how to fix things with Jonathan" doesn't factor in. It's also a rare moment for us to see Mrs. Wheeler in this light.

My first thought after watching the episode: the Duffer brothers didn't write this. And sure enough, according to imdb, a woman, Kate Trefry, gets the "written by" credit for 3.04.

Too bad it's the only episode of the season with her name on it. Trefry does get a "story editor" credit for 3.01, along with her "staff writer" credit throughout season two.

My watch of Stranger Things is probably going on pause as the family visits and travel start up again.
