I finished cleaning the craft area of the spare bedroom. Since I haven't had guests in that room for a while, it had... devolved. In fact, it was a two-Saturday job to clean it. But now it's done! And I can do projects! Like sewing ( Read more... )

Oh, this looks like fun! *watches*

"This is straightforward geometry."

Hee! I knew there was math involved! But I was always pretty good at geometry, actually. I love the animations. I never could understand something flat but when they animate the pattern, I get it. Such a visual learner!

I loved it! I think I'm addicted and have to watch more. And I know nothing about sewing!

Eeee, it is so fun to watch! I'm glad others are enjoying it.

I've found a commercial-free episode two here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5trYhyBMuI

I'm already watching. Even considering taking a sewing class but it looks hard!

Can you make a dress from scratch, Rose?

ETA: Aww, it's sad when someone has to go home. :-(

A sewing class would be a great idea, as would asking someone you know with experience who doesn't actually mind taking the time to show you.

Is sewing hard? It can be. Getting the basics down is very important, obviously. Hm. Maybe I'll cull through my sewing links to see if I can find a few good starter posts ( ... )

Wow, you've been sewing for a long time. I realized that the people who sewed best really had been doing it for a while. In a way, it's like baking/cooking. Through years of trial and error, you find the best way to do things. I did find a sewing class but I think it would take me a while before I'd be good at it.

It made me sad when Stewart had to go. He has such joy and whimsy in his designs. I'm so glad he's still sewing!

I have a swatch of fabric someone bought me stashed away. I'd love to make something from it. No one else would have it, that's for sure.

I saw that Tilly is selling her patterns on line. I'll have to check it out!
