Dear self,
I think we're agreed that watching an episode of Fringe right before going to bed is a bad idea, yes? Let's not do that again.
Thanks ever so much,
me
P.S. WATCH OUT FOR THE IMAGINARY BUTTERFLIES, THEY ARE SCARY!
Okay, fine, I'll make a tag for Fringe now. I'm enjoying it, and I think it's because I have low expectations. Not to say that the show isn't well-done, but taking this crazy science stuff as serious business is too much of a stretch for me.
(Not sure why that is; after all, I took Lost seriously right up until... we actually saw the smoke monster, perhaps. Certainly I wasn't taking it seriously by the time we found out that the smoke monster was also some guy with mommy issues.)
Current thoughts on the characters: I like Olivia! And Peter! And Walter! Astrid needs more to do! Olivia's co-workers and boss are interesting and possibly scary! Nina Sharpe is scary and also interesting!
Having low expectations (induced by the silliness of the science) means I'm pleasantly surprised by any character and story arcs. *shrugs* So I like it and I'll continue watching, but I'm not so invested at this point that I have any interest in reading/writing fanfiction. And in very vague reference to the spoilery things I'm seeing out there for season three, it's fairly predictable even now.
Um. I think that's all I have to say about it. Posting this so I'll get off the computer and do my piano practicing. And balance my checking account like one ought to do from time to time.
eta: the discussion post for TSCC episode 1X02 is
finally up, so... go discuss!
