day ten of favorite fictional females
Day ten actually happened here: I really want Martha Jones on my side in a fight. (I also want her leather jacket.)
Do you ever find yourself perplexed by your favorite characters? I do. Kara Thrace and Martha Jones are two of my favorite characters of the last few years, but why? Martha is emotionally healthy and self-aware, if a bit co-dependent with her family; Kara is an emotional mess. Kara has a fierce physicality to her, Martha veers toward intellectualism. (Neither is all brains or all brawn, but they are very different in this area.) I identify with both Kara and Martha, but wouldn't want to be more like Kara. I wouldn't mind being more like Martha.
