I LOVE Bend It Like Beckham! Awesome movie. And yes, her speech at the end -- I remember being really impressed at the time that she (and the movie) didn't just use a loophole when her friend offered to get 'engaged' to her to pacify her parents. She stood up honestly for what she wanted.

Yup. I adore that moment. And then her dad's speech about how he shouldn't have accepted the prejudices he encountered, and... ♥

Bend it Like Beckham is one of my favourite movies ever. I am an old fan of Coronation Street(Britian's number 1 soap and an after school fave for CBC here in Canada) so I had a somewhat easier time understanding the characters but even I got lost sometimes. Jess is my favourite I wish Parminder Nagra was getting more work lately it sucks how few roles their are for minorities.

I haven't paid much attention to Parminder Nagra's career after ER, but yeah... she's gorgeous, she can act. She needs more roles.
