*squeals* I love this - the gentle humor and pseudo-sweetness. And not too shmoopy - I think 'bittersweet fluff' is pretty apt. I really like how you work in visual details like the candle to make it that much more vivid:

She sat up and peeled her arms out of the flight suit. Looking resigned and cold, she stood up and pulled off the rest of the suit as quickly as she could. He appreciated the view--the contrast of Kara's vivid personality with the gray and black tanks

Aww, they are kind of sweet, aren't they? But the bitter is knowing what will happen later. But for a while they had something on N.C.

The dream scared me! Again! You have a thing with creepiness too, my friend. And Caprica. And that week. I am glad Kara made Sam forget scary dreams. I will pretend there will be no more scary dreams for either of them, forever after!
