Well Giles did tell me so.....

I said no it wouldn't happen, and honestly I didn't think it would. However I saw evidence of it today, Tazie has become attached to Mugsy! When I go to work Mugsy and Tazie both go with me. Mugsy normally has to stay in a den all day, because of his aggression issues. Tazie gets to go into the small dog yard and play. Though most of the time he is sitting on the bench, or he has his nose stuck under the fence looking for me.

Well today I had put them in crates so that they could see each other. When it got time to take Tazie into the daycare yard, he didn't want to leave Mugsy. Normally I can put him on the ground if he is in a cubby and he will just follow me to where I'm going however, today he just kept looking up at Mugsy's crate and wouldn't leave him. Our APT had to pick him up and carry him to the yard.

I never would have thought that Tazie would have become so attached to him. Giles did try to tell me though that it was going to happen. I just thought that Tazie was so attached to me, to become so attached to another dog.

While we were really slow this morning, I just sorta hung out in the small dog yard, and the APT and I talked over bringing Mugsy in. I was a little nervous at first but with the muzzle, there really wasn't much he could do you know. It took a few minutes on a lead and some correction but before long he was running around in the little dog yard without having any problems. There was one dog that was just way to hyper and causing problems all over the yard and Mugsy didn't like him. Well when this dog would get to close to Mugsy, Tazie would get in between them and sorta guard Mugsy.
We kept the muzzle on him and he only got 2 - 30 minute visits to the yard but both of them were wonderful steps of progress. When Mugsy was first brought into us, he lunged and tried to go for the throat of every dog that passed by him. To see him sniffing and being sniffed, and then playing with the other dogs and some of them even bigger than he is, was just a wonderful sight. I'm so proud of him today.

puppy love
