My twelve-year-old cat Rudy is very ill in the hospital with some kind of liver problem. He’ll be having an ultrasound tomorrow (well, today), which should tell us more. The blood test results indicate infection, inflammation (I’m not sure what the cause of that would be, so may be misremembering), or cancer. I’m simultaneously relieved to have a straightforward answer, and scared and heartbroken by what may lie ahead. At least I know that the staff, who adore him, are probably showering him with love and cuddles. His "kids" Jackson and Jillian have been particularly squirrely and needy; we all miss him.
