The vet tech was very reassuring. She said to hold off on the Sheba, give her the subQs as usual and monitor the situation. If all is going well, I'll talk to Dr. Yank on Monday. She'll probably prescribe something for the diarrhea if Missy needs it, or I can take her in.
Missy wolfed down about 35g of chunk light tuna in water, which is almost a normal-size meal for her! Knock on wood, she's doing OK so far. I add extra water and smush the tuna so it's like a stew, and she hoovers it up :)
This is probably the result of all the new foods she is eating. Cats need time to adjust. Cut down on the new food. Stop all food for 24 hours first. Then just keep up with cat food. No cheese!! No steak! No Tuna!! She is not used to all the extra fats and sugars. Get some pro-pectin (anti diarrhea stuff for pets). I keep it on had all the time. It's like Imodium for cats.
Thanks! Yes, I thought all the food changes might not be helping. I've just been so worried about how little she's eating. I think the fact that she did like the Sheba so much made her scarf it a little too fast. The worst result was with the cheese, however. (In the past, she's had the occasional nibble of cheddar, but her digestive system is pretty sensitive right now anyway
