Live Report: Kaya in Mexico City

Jul 15, 2011 03:18

Since I posted this in my Kaya website, I also wanted to repost this here as well.

According to my friend, it was a HELL OF A SHOW. Kaya is not only an amazing singer, dancer and performer, but he's also an incredible human being.

Thanks to our amazing friend khaotic_kozi  we have some firsthand information for all of you, regarding Kaya's concert from not long ago in Mexico City.

Unfortunately, Kaya didn't get much demand taking into consideration that YOSHIKI messed up announcing X JAPAN's live in Mexico months ahead of what promoters had scheduled, so his show took place in the outer hall of Circo Volador, which is much smaller. We could say that around 500 people attended to the concert.

Kaya started the show on time, very punctually. His concert was 2 hours long, he talked a lot in Spanish, saying how happy he was, asking people if they were having fun, and shouting at least more than a dozen times that he loved them. The crowd sang Happy Birthday and Las Mañanitas to him several times, and he was given a Mexican flag and a Charro hat he would actually try to wear.
During Rose Jail, in an euphoric attack, Kaya threw himself at the crowd, landing next to a Kamijo cosplayer with whom he flirted; he lifted his skirt and peeked his leg out, and stared at people like wanting to say "you perverts!"

He changed his costume twice: the first one was QUEEN's dress with a different wig, a long platinum one that had straight hair, and with some roses on it. The second outfit was some kind of flowered kimono, black & reddish-pink colored, a red belt and gloves, with a red haired wig with long curls. The dancers changed their clothing around 3 or 4 times.

Here's a list of part of the merchandise that was being sold at the venue:
- Barairo Daikokai Nisshi DVD
- Folder
- Kaya Remix vol.1 K Single
- Keychain with logo
- Masquerade Single
- T-shirt (same model in pink, black and white)
- Postcards
- QUEEN Album (both versions)
- Tapestry

And here's what you've wanted to know from the beginning, the setlist. I want to point out that the songs aren't in order, but what we do know is that he performed 21 songs in 2 hours.

1. Rose Kingdom
2. Awilda
3. Ophelia
4. Madame Rosa
5. Masquerade
6. Chocolat
7. Silvery Dark
8. Carmilla
9. Nouvelle Mariee
10. Transmigration

Regarding the experience for people who bought VIP tickets, the Meet & Greet was in the same stage where the concert took place, they just quickly disassembled it and put a table with chairs, where Yui, Ryoushin and Kaya sat, in that order. Yui and Ryoushin (the dancers) took the chance to greet people before they got to Kaya, who autographed whatever people brought him, exchanged handshakes and even hugs, always expressing himself with a lot of joy and affection, and most noticeably, with his characteristic charming smile.
