Title: Searching without success
Characters: Sam W. Mikaela B. Miles L.
Universe: Bayverse
Rating: K
Summary: Extreme measures are taken to keep close friends from learning what happened that weekend.
Prompt #1 Scenario - Avoiding Someone
Sam Witwicky sat at a corner table in the cafeteria, not eating. His bagged lunch he shredded, eyes constantly scanning the undulating crowd of teenagers, searching for a familiar face.
When an overly full bookbag slammed next to Sam’ untouched carton of chocolate milk, he jumped.
Mikaela Banes pushed the bag in front. “What?” She asked. “The floor is dirty.”
Sam went back to scanning the crowd, hands tearing the remnants of his sandwich into smaller parts.
Mikaela stuffed a hot-beef-and-pastrami sandwich into her mouth, chewed and swallowed before speaking. “Who are you avoiding?” She moved to her drink, plastic straw puncturing the seal of her Capri-Sun punch.
Sam leaned closer. “Not avoiding anyone.” His eyes spotted the familiar face. He jumped up, grabbed his bag, ran out the doors on the opposite on the other side of the room, leaving his drink and meal behind.
“Sure, you’re not avoiding anyone.” Mikaela strained her neck to see over her bag. She gave a quick glance towards the A-crowd. “Lancaster! Over here!” She stood up, waved Sam’s friend over to her side.
A quick change of plates and the ruined lunch was in front of here, the empty plate at the empty seat by the warming carton of chocolate milk.
Miles Lancaster hesitated only a moment before heading her way, slid next to Mikaela. “Have you seen Sam?” Miles asked, fiddling with his pizza.
“No,” Mikaela drained her Capri-sun drink. “Haven’t seen him.”
Miles considered his unlikely table-companion. “Are you avoiding Trent?”
“… is it that obvious?” Mikaela considered lying, decided to tell the truth.
“Just a lucky guess.”
Title: Enmity
Characters: Blackout
Universe: Bayverse (pre-movie)
Rating: K+
Summary: Earth’s neighboring planet holds secrets
Prompt #2 Setting - on the surface of a very hostile planet
Weak images from an unidentified source revealed the presence of yet another drone, as the leaks had exposed its predecessors to this rocky world.
Blackout stood on the iron-oxide surface of the forth planet from the local sun. He scanned for more electronic emissions.
Only the one source.
The Decepticion could have hidden himself in the shadows, striking the intruder unseen, but he was a warrior, not an assassin. Besides, the lone drone lookout had no way of defending itself.
Blackout took his time approaching the radio-controlled automated explorer, analyzing the omni-directional signal it broadcast at random intervals.
Blackout paid no attention to the fact his approach blocked out the sun. He struck and the machine fell to pieces.
Title: Timeless
Characters: Monica Epps, Theresa Epps
Universe: Bayverse
Rating: K
Summary: Letters are one way to connect generations, bypassing time and other barriers.
Prompt #3 An Unsent Letter
Monica Epps carefully addressed the envelope, placed the handwritten pages inside.
Monica’s mother, Theresa Epps, watched, waited as her oldest daughter sealed the letter. When it wasn’t given a stamp or placed in the pile of mail to be taken to the post-office, Theresa’s curiousity was pricked.
Then she saw to whom the letter was addressed.
Theresea walked away, marveling. Monica hadn’t stopped writing. Using her diary, yes (her younger sisters wouldn’t let any personal journal remain unread), but she’d switched methods of hiding her private thoughts.
Grandmother Edna, if she was still alive, would have enjoyed being her great-granddaugher’s secret keeper. Grandma Edna had kept Theresa’s secrets all her life, enjoying learning her granddaughter’s thoughts and feelings.
Title: Commercial Demonstration
Characters: William Lennox, Optimus Prime
Universe: Bayverse
Rating: K
Summary: Sector 7 confiscated Wayne Szalinski’s top-secret Shrink ray, and used it.
Prompt #4 Scenario: Your chosen characters are miniaturized
William Lennox kept an eye on the figure at the far end of the football field “You’re taking this calmly, Optimus.”
Standing on the bleacher seat, Optimus still had to look up to catch the eye of his human friend. “This is not the first time I’ve woken up smaller.”
A distant crash interrupted. The three-foot tall figure of Ironhide tore the field goal posts apart, not satisfied with dismantling or wrecking the metal bars.
“First time for Ironhide, then?” the human asked.
“No.” Optimus paused to consider his words. “Ironhide is handling his sudden size displacement quite well actually.”
“You’re kidding!” Will couldn’t believe it.
The chartreuse green Ratchet, also one-ninth his original size, nodded in agreement. “Sure - he’s limiting the destruction to the field posts only. If Ironhide lacked control, small or big, you’d need to replace the entire stadium - seats, bleachers, cement steps, building, and lawn.”
“Got it - No mini-me jokes.”
Robert Epps stirred. Sitting he still towered over their metal friends.. “Does this mean we can’t watch Honey, We Shrunk The Kids?”
Optimus turned at the sudden, suppressed laughter from the surviving soldiers. A quick glance at the suspiciously-silent Bumblebee, and he decided not to ask.

Prompt #5 Love - in the most unexpected place
“Wipe the drool from your face, Figg.”

“You and every other man in this unit.”
“Have you ever seen a more impressive gun?”
“That’s not a gun - it’s a pair of cannons.”
“Seriously, Cap.”
“Nothing is more impressive than my wife.”
Jorge turned to his superior. “You can’t mean that!”
“Oh, the destructive power’s awesome. But if my wife hears me say ‘I’m in love,’ towards anyone or anything that isn’t here,” the human shrugged. “Besides, those aren’t yours to play with.”
Ironhide finished repairing his cannons, walked away, ignoring the humans discussing his weaponry.
