Annabelle Lenox sat in her favorite (often absent) seat, glued to the television while her all-time favorite movie played. When the last car crash happened, Annabelle clapped, happy that the innocent puppies escaped capture.
William Lennox, holding his precious daughter in his lap, had fallen asleep about half-an-our into the movie, completely missing the escape exploits of the four-legged canine family - all ninety-nine spotted black and white puppies -, and the recapture attempts from Horase and Jasper.
Sarah Lennox, sitting next to her husband, dozed on and off throughout Annabelle’s movie, gladdened that Will had returned home safe and sound.

It was the last class of the quarterly testing, and Leo Spitz hadn’t show up for any of the all-important midterm exams.
That frightened his doormats - Leo Spitz always showed up for exams and tests - occasionally late, but he’d never failed to take on time before.
Sam Witwicky’s absence wasn’t as noticeable - they didn’t know the freshman’s habits and Sam was a freshman, fresh out of high school. (What they had observed, led the three of them to believe he was a stickler for appearing normal). Some of them burnt out about the end of first quarter testing, and Sam’s outbursts during astronomy class, led them to believe Sam was cracking.
Leo, the unidentified leader of their small group, was not one to disappear without notice.
“Anything, Sharsky?” Fassbinder asked
“Nada,” Sharkatron3000 had checked everything within electronic reach. “Leo’s vanished from the grid: no calls, no credit card use - its as if he’s dead.”
They ignored the television as it began to broadcast The Fallen’s demand - and an image of their other missing roommate.

Robert Epps practically crowed when he saw the test-fire of amour-piercing rounds shred an obsolete tank on the White Sand Missile Test-site. “Yeah! Take that, you Decepticon creeps!”
Silver Sideswipe watched the destruction of empty shells, muttered distractedly, “I can do better.”
Robert Epps held put a hand - the countdown to the next test-fire drill paused. “Willing to put actions to that boast?”
Sideswipe looked at the three undamaged, due-to-be-turned-into-scrap metal war machines. He tapped an arm panel, two massive swords appeared in his hands. “Let’s do this.”
Robert and the technicians helping him, watched, awed, as Sideswipe demolished the stationary targets without any effort.

“NBE’s are dangerous!” Seymour Simmons put his foot down because someone had to.
‘Autobots,” William Lennox stressed the title, “Wouldn’t harm a human.”
“Tell that to the three hundred eighty-five dead in Mission city.” Simmons shot back.
If looks could kill, Lennox would have been guilty of first-degree murder. There was nothing he could say about that unfair, but accurate statement.
“If you’d let the Autobots help with clean-up and work as emergency responders, fewer humans would have needed a burial!”
“Not my decision to make,” Simmons shook his head. “Earth’s not ready to learn we’re not alone in the universe.”
“Seems to me that ignorance cost most of SOCCET it’s personal - knowing transforming alien robots were out there would have meant the base could have defended itself better!”
“If you think just because a recon group is blown to smithereens, the main forces are going to bypass this system, you’re sadly mistaken.”
“Which is why we need to support the Autobots - and why we need their help learning how to defend our world!” Lennox spun on his heel. They’d covered this old argument countless times, and neither Simmons, nor Lennox were any closer to convincing the other they were right.

Opening his window just a tad, he heard the approaching thunderheads as lightning bolts traveled through the massive storm system.
When the lights in the hallway flicked, Miles saved his rough draft, shut down the computer, lay atop the quilt on his bed.
He fell asleep within moments, warn and dry inside, where the freezing cold raindrops never landed.
