After dispatching the black-cobalt Autobot prisoner called Tailgate, Airachnid calmly made her way to the ship set aside for her personal use.

Megatron didn’t seem to care how Autobot prisoners were dealt with; Shockwave gave no indication to what he thought about torture of enemies.  Airachnid did enjoy her work - as long as her superiors looked the other way while she extracted information and made sure any survivors weren’t a threat.

Securing herself into Inspid’s only seat, Airachnid half-wished she could have killed Tailgate’s partner too.

“Arcee - we will meet again!” Airachnid hissed.  Then the ship exited the Decepticon base.  It’s security had been compromised, and though Airachnid knew no Autobot prisoners remained alive within its walls, the Autobots resistant fighters didn’t and were sure to raid.

“I will get you for stealing Tailgate from me!”  Airachnid soothed herself.  The Autobot femme would pay.  After the incident that gave Airachnid organic features, Tailgate had been the first (and only) mech who hadn’t been revolted by her changed appearance.

And for a while, Tailgate had managed to get Airachnid interested in living again. Until the Decepticon forces under Megatron had become a threat to the Senate.

Airachnid had been swayed by the Decepticon cause “to speak up for the minorities, to stand up for the oppressed.”  Tailgate, had not believed the rally speeches, believing in the Autobot propaganda that “We are for the common mech”.

Airachnid had almost persuaded Tailgate to join the Decepticions - in spite of his misgivings - when that pitiful Autobot femme had charmed Tailgate away with a wink and a swing of the hips.

“How well will you deal with Tailgate’s murder?”  Airachnid asked herself.  All along she knew she would have never fit in with the old-fashioned Autobot regime.  “Protect the weak!” laughable - restraining her impulse to inflict harm hadn’t been easy even before the accident that made her a techno-organic.  Now that she possessed even more weapons, Megatron’s call to ‘rise and defeat those who would enslave us’ the blood lust had risen strong.

Arcee was just the latest prey.  It might take vorns or till the end of the war to remove her from the land of living.  Airachnid was patient.  She was sure of herself - Having eliminated many of the organic, techno-organics, and mechanical species the Prime once called upon for support, Airachnid knew patience.

“My dear, I have fatally wounded you.  You just don’t know it yet.”  Airachnid purred in the silence of space.

“So, we meet again, Arcee.”  Airachnid spun another web, threw at the blue femme.  Hmm, that pathetic Autobot seemed to be protecting a local creature.  Perfect.  “I must say I expected a better fight.”

Airachnid dodged the kick, swept one pair of legs forward to tangle the Autobot on her landing.  “Shouldn’t be surprised - after all, you did loose your appreciation for fighting after Tailgate’s unfortunate demise.”  Airachnid shook her head in sorrow.

“You. Killed. My. Friend.”  Arcee increased the attack, despite having lost her laser-guns.

Airachnid fell back slightly, astonished at the ferocity of Arcee’s offensive moves.  She grinned.  It had been too long since she’d been challenged in battle.  “Yes, a pity.  Tailgate shouldn’t have died like that.”  A second web was tossed at the blue-femme.

Both fighters were so focused on making sure the other died, they forgot (or not) about the local.  That is, until it stumbled into her ship.

Airachnid slammed Arcee into a tree, webbed the closest limb to the vegetation.  Airachnid wanted to eviscerate the Autobot here and now (watching the energon drain from her graying frame would be very satisfying), except the alarms connecting Airachnid to her ship, Febrile, warned her the local (organic) intruder had bypassed the second layer of security measures.  HOW?  Nothing should have been able to get inside alive, without her.

During the rush to find the exploited weakness, (after chasing the organic out) a stray shot hit the small puddle of leaked energon,

Airachnid watched in horror as her ship - HER SHIP - blew up.  That stolen transport had been her only way off this planet.

Arcee and her pet, escaped while Airachnid wasn’t looking.  “No more games, Arcee.  You will be extinguished by my hands!”    Airachnid examined the flaming clearing for anything that might have survived the conflagration.
