TITLE: Take Out
CHARATER: Onslaught
SERIES: Any verse (G1 or Bayverse)
RATING: K+
SUMMARY: A Chance of Pace can be good - it can also bring uncertainty.
(Nov 23rd) PROMPT #2 Indecision

"What to destroy first," Onslaught mused, looking towards the targets Megatron wanted gone, by any means necessary.  He was not a scout, had never been designed to infiltrate enemy strong holds.  Onslaught and his team were wreckers, destroyers of buildings and plans.  If the goal was the demolishing of mechs, Onslaught's combiner group were the top choice of the Decepticon army.

"What do I destroy first?"  In the midst of fighting, battles happened so fast, he didn't need to ask, going for the first target that presented itself.  Here on earth, where unwary humans wandered so innocent and freely, time was not the deciding factor.

"Why not both?"

Onslaught pondered the answer his gestalt member gave.   Human structures wouldn't need all five to take out one symbolic item, historical artifact, or stone monuments.  "Both at once sounds good - Brawl, Blast Off, Swindle, Vortex, you go wreck the Smithsonian and I'll tear down the Washington Monument."

"All four of us?"

In his truck form, Onslaught struck Swindle with his door.  "Yes, all four - were you even listening when Starscream said the Museums were linked with underground tunnels?"

"It was Starscream, of course not."

Maybe I should ask Soundwave to prepare the mission briefings, then. Onslaught started his engine, released his parking break and let gravity pull him towards his target objective.  From all outside appearances, he was a driverless vehicle.  "And be quick about it!  We need Bruticus to drive out or the inhabitants of The Big Apple"

The combaticions scattered, all in their alt modes.

Humans, Onslaught mused, couldn't distinguish between one of their own terrestrial vehicles and an infiltrator.  It made for a pleasant change, being able to properly dismantle and ruin the target of choice at will, instead of having to divide attention between destruction and survival.

TITLE: Just Because
CHARATER: Carly, Silverbolt and team
SERIES: Generation 1
RATING: K - all audiences
SUMMARY: Answering questions of the curious is just part of the job description.
(23rd November) PROMPT #3: Hanging Gardens

"Carly, can you answer a few questions for us?"

Carly Witwicky turned to give the Aerialbots her full attention.  "Just a few," she said, knowing that they could give Bluestreak a challenge in the 'how fast can you speak' vocalizer test.

Silverbolt hid a smile.  It was Fireflight's reputation that made the clarifier necessary.  "What are 'Hanging Gardens' and why do humans have them?"

Carly stared at the Concorde Supersonic Transport.  "A hanging garden is basically any type of flowering plant or combination of colorful plants- potted in a basket that hangs above ground.  As for why," She shrugged.  "Lots of reasons come to mind."

"Name five," challenged Air Raid.

"1, the plants are frost sensitive and need to be sheltered during the winter." Carly lifted a second finger.  "It's too hot or too bright outside and the plants would fry or burn outside."  A third finger joined the two upraised fingers.  "Better water control - under a covered patio, its a lot easier to monitor how much and not overwater the delicate flower."  A fourth finger went up.  "No room - either no backyard, or its been converted into an inground pool, or the area is used for play and the flowers are not groundcovers capable of absorbing kids playing on them” Finally, the thumb joined the others.  "The ground itself is unsuited for growing plants."

Skydive snorted. "That's only one - the yard is unsuitable, so the humans build upwards instead of outwards."

"Skydive," Silverbolt gently admonished the F-16.  "Her reasoning is sound."

"Yeah, but plants that die in too much heat, or intense cold?"  That was Slighshot.  "Plants are everywhere!  That doesn't make sense that their own environment would kill them."

Carly had to stifle a laugh.  "Many times hanging gardens are plants that come from other areas of the world, where the weather and climate are different - humans like the color, find the smell appealing, or just want something different that isn't everywhere in the neighborhood, and so plant flowers that are unsuited for the area."  She shrugged in a what-can-you-do expression.

Silverbolt looked at his team.  "Have we exhausted this topic yet?"

"NO!"  came four voices and they pelted pour Carly with questions, not giving her time to answer even one.

Silverbolt sighed, stepped back, and waited for a sign from the badgered human to indicate she'd had enough.  It took a surprisingly long time and a lot of the Aerialbots questions about human customs and culture were answered at least partially if not to their full and complete satisfaction.

CHARATER: Will Lennnox, Bobby Epps,
SERIES: Bayverse
RATING: K
SUMMARY: Working hard brings more responsibilities.
(Nov 23rd) PROMPT #5 Reward for a job Well-Done

"Oh no!"  William Lennox dropped the just-opened letter as if were a poisonous snake.

"What?"  Robert Epps sneaked a glance at the words of the cast-off mail.  "Oh, good.  You got the promotion.  Means I don't have to deal with even more generals out-of-touch with reality."

Lennox glared at his friend.  "No, but you still get to deal with the clueless ones we do have regular contact regularly."

"That's right - ah, crud.  You had to remind me!"  Epps mock-complained, much to the amusement of the NEST swirling around the open office door.

"What's the big deal?"  Clive Gramm asked.  "At least someone realizes you have the knack for dragging us out of impossible situations alive.  I say, it's about time you get more authority in requisitioning the equipment we know we need, instead of the stuff everyone else things we require."

"Not helping," Lennox stated.  "I hate paperwork."
